If the headrest's fabric cover has slipped out of position allowing the headrest foam and plastic substrate to separate, please follow this video and the below instructions to properly align the fabric back into place to keep the foam and substrate together. To do this, first uninstall the headrest.
Step 1
Remove the plastic shell:
- At the top of the headrest, slip your fingers between the plastic shell and the headrest fabric approximately 1.5" away from the left-side steel rod.
- Pull the shell towards you until you hear it snap out of place and feel the shell loosen.
- Repeat on the right side of the headrest.
- Once released, slide the shell towards the bottom of the headrest to remove it completely.
Step 2
Re-align the fabric cover by pulling it over the headrest plastic substrate.
Step 3
Re-install the plastic shell:
- Sliding it up from the bottom, re-seat the shell into place by aligning the grooves on top of the shell with each steel rod.
- Re-seat the inner tab found inside the shell by sliding it into the appropriate section of the plastic substrate.
- Once the tab is inserted, apply pressure against the side of the shell to help it remain correctly aligned.
- While maintaining pressure, push firmly against the back of the plastic shell until it audibly snaps back into place.
- Repeat on the right side of the headrest.
